So nice, we did it twice - our second full house renovation with Stonegate! The project was very extensive: each room taken down to the studs, new windows, roof, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, and outside work. Jeremiah was with us from the pre-purchase walk-through to move-in day. We would not have taken on this project without Stonegate as they have been so reliable over so many years and have our full trust. There were some scary homeowner moments during this project, but we were reassured by excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
During the project, the team was great. They’re on time every day, are very careful with clean-up, and care for the job site. One of our new neighbors came over mid-project to compliment us about the team. He was so impressed.
Beyond being professional, Stonegate’s craftsmanship is superb. Everything feels so solid, so well finished. The main members of the team have been constant through the time we've worked with Stonegate, which says a lot about the company and Jeremiah Wright, the owner.

StoneGate Construction is our "contractor for life." We first hired them in 2011 to do a large remodeling of our DC townhouse. The work was spectacular and to this day nothing of all that construction has required repair. We have since hired them for a major basement refinish as well as several medium and small projects. The results are always the same: solid and attractive with attention to detail and, importantly, compliance to the latest building codes. That is in part because they also use high quality materials and understand well how these houses were built 100 years ago. Equally important is that StoneGate's crew are all highly skilled and have worked together for years. We consider Jeremiah a personal friend and know his guys by name. We look forward to seeing them all on each job.
We are planning more jobs ahead for our house but we will not even bother going out to bid. StoneGate is the only company we need.

Jeremiah and his team made my dream come true. My house was built in 1942, East of the Anacostia River during WWII. My vision was to renovate my home to a 21st Century Open Concept to include a Gourmet Kitchen and Master Suite. StoneGate Construction added a 16ft/2 level addition on the back of the house as well as opening up the first floor, updating other parts of the house mixing the old with the new. The attention to detail and craftsmanship was A+. Jeremiah was very professional and I often relied on his expertise and creative ideas. Over the last 12 years you have completely transformed my historic home. As a project manager I was concerned with timing and as usual your team exceeded our expectations regarding timeline. The kitchen renovation was done in 8 weeks, which was no small feat as you had to replace a load-bearing wall, level the kitchen, re-do the chimney wall uncovered, replace all pipes, wiring and install heated floors. The 2 bathroom renovations took 3 weeks each including removing 10 inches of concrete tile from the floor/walls, taking out caste iron tubs, moving pipes and adding the proper insulation that have made our home much better protected.
I can’t thank you enough for the craftsmanship you did on our roof and siding after a 75-foot tree damaged the siding and chimney. Since no job for us is easy the 3 story of repair/sand/paint to our plaster walls has made them look brand new. The new enclosed fence and staining on our ½ acre lot looks fantastic. Yes, you were right the 25 new windows have provided the proper energy efficiencies to make our home cozy in the winter.
I have to say what impresses me the most and why we will be client forever is how your crew is meticulous about clean-up daily. I work from home and it is important to keep construction and dust to a minimum. At the end of each day I have been very thankful that we are not amid a construction nightmare and in some ways, we can’t even tell that major construction has taken place.
As always you and your team do excellent work. Of course, I am spoiled and as long we own this house no other contractor/company will touch it. You have truly made hour home into showplace!

We have contracted with Stone Gate Construction for remodeling work on our Silver Spring home on three separate occasions: a remodeling of our kitchen and exterior porch in the Fall of 2012, the renovation of two bathrooms in the Fall of 2018, and the installation of a stone patio in the Spring of 2014. The kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects were both “gut” rehabs that involved changing the footprint of both rooms. The kitchen job required moving a portion of the exterior wall of the first floor of the house and the installation of steel beams to support the second story. The kitchen job also involved the remodeling of an exterior “mud room” into a covered porch, including re-roofing the porch and the entire home at the same time. Both jobs required the installation of new windows.
We cannot speak highly enough of the quality of work on every facet of every one of these jobs by Mr. Jeremiah Wright and his construction crew. They can do everything: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tilework, drywall, roofing, stonework/brickwork, cabinet installation, ductwork, painting, structural work. The quality of all their work is impeccable. The work has always been completed on time and on budget. They are all the nicest, most honorable and conscientious people to deal with; it is particularly noteworthy how rigorous Mr. Wright’s crew is in cleaning up the worksite each day. (We did not vacate our home during any of these projects.) Mr. Wright worked extremely cooperatively with our architect/designer on both the kitchen and bathroom projects. The suppliers he identified to us for windows and other materials were excellent to work with, their prices were fair, and materials were delivered on schedule.
We could not recommend Mr. Wright and his company more highly for any residential construction project someone might wish to undertake. We would be happy to speak to potential new clients and to provide photos of the completed projects.

You are my hero! I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful work you have done for us. The first project was our only bathroom on the 2nd floor. It is just absolutely beautiful. Everyone who walks in it, comments on how awesome it is and doesn’t want to leave it!!
The next project was a large one – re-doing the entire kitchen which included taking down two load-bearing walls. I was very wary and it took me a long time to find a contractor who I trusted to come in and do all of our work. The scope of the work included: new kitchen; deck and new siding. First of all, you found me the best architect in the world who was reasonable. Our new kitchen is now the absolute heart-beat of the house. As a matter of fact, we ate our Thanksgiving dinner in there last year!!
What a wonderful addition our deck has been! We love to sit outside and this has now provided us that luxury. You also took down all of our aluminum siding, wrapped the house and put up new siding that had insulation built in. This past winter was our first winter that we were actually warm and didn’t have to work for the gas company! Thank you!!
